Swallowed Coin in the Stomach



The actual history is that the child was observed to swallow a coin which can just be seen at the bottom edge of the chest radiograph (red arrows). Accurate clinical history is always extremely important for the best patient care. 

 

 
Coin in the stomach. The red arrows point to the top of a coin which was located in the stomach. The child had earlier been observed to swallow the coin. The white arrow points to the normal appearance of the thymus.
