Round Pneumonia
 

  • Spherical pneumonia caused by
    • Haemophilus influenzae
    • Streptococcus
    • Pneumococcus
  • Children are affected much more than adults
  • Location
    • Usually lower lobe
    • Most often posterior
       
  • Clinical
    • Cough
    • Fever
    • Chest pain
  • May change size rapidly
     
  • May have slightly irregular border and contain air bronchogram



  • Not to be confused with mass in children
