Hamartoma of the Breast

 

  • Rare, benign, well-circumscribed mass
  • Mixed density 2° to fat and water
  • Mean age 45
  • Mass is usually soft and often non-palpable
  • Mammography
    • Surrounded by a thin capsule under which, there may be
    • Peripheral radiolucent zone of fat
    • Mass may contain calcifications
